contribution without a penny!

Posted on the March 17th, 2009 under Uncategorized by Min Prasad Bhandari

Its my experience in the US that I get so nostalgic to my country. I regret of not being able to do anything to my dear country. I often blamed on leaders and  who not, for not doing things right. I eventually found that it’s not me alone who does the blaming. Its the entire people who are unhappy of the activities done by the leaders. Surprisingly, I found out that we not only blame only leaders, but among ourselves. Height of distrust among ourselves has reached a limit. Most of our time is spent on negative analysis of other people’s activities. And we believe that we are doing right on behalf of our country. Lately, I have realized the stupidity of such engagement. If I don’t stop blaming who will? I thought to use my creative thinking a bit differently.

So, here is what I am engaged in right now:

-Stop thinking on what others are doing.

-Think of a way how I could contribute to my Nepal

Based on my new thought process I came to this:

Since I know that Nepal is a tourist country and  that we make money if more people visit us, I am working towards  promoting  Nepalsese tourism abroad. Interestingly I found a way how I could do that without a penny. Simple: Everyone I speak to I start admiring the beauty of Nepal. Nothing more.
My achievements: I have have had five people who are planning to visit Nepal. So I believe, if every one of us living abroad could speak good about Nepal, we could generate a great number of people visiting Nepal every year. This is one example.
I strongly believe, if every one of us engages in thinking how ”I can contribute to Nepal” we will come out of unique ways that lead to Nepal building.
Any one who reads this post, please share your thought how you can do something in building Nepal without a penny. Isn’t it a time to think seriously???

Not long ago, having a photo gallery made a web site look cool. Now even videos won’t do it. Having a web site is good but finding a crowd to look at your site is getting tougher and tougher. No wonder, these days, social networking sites aren’t only for personal use. Today, news and media, businessmen, and even celebrities use social networking sites to find the crowd, or let the crowd find them. Put a link or two and divert a few to your site is a proven trick.

Are you alone ? Are you hosting quality contents on a site and still wondering why the heck you aren’t getting visitors ?

The answer is — you are away from the crowd.

About 10 years ago, when I first started using computer, all my friends used to say, “I got hotmail”. I thought they were more privileged than me.

I’ve got to be even more privileged now. I’ve got gmail, making my email accounts to a total of seven.

Checking email means dealing with bunches of accounts having different passwords. To login, all I have to do is click on “Forget my password”

Now, I’ve added accounts on social networking sites. Bookmarks in browsers are old-fashioned to me — they take long time to get to. And even the most used front page igoogle isn’t enough for me.

I’m sorry, News and stuff are the last tasks. First is to check emails, go to social sites, check my bookmarks on sites like delicious.

Thanks to HTML, before I went insane, I was able to create a front page that’s a killer. Please have a look, it’s ugly but works.

My Home Page index.html

1. Yahoo Mail
2. Hotmail
3. Gmail

Video
1. Youtube
2. Google Videos
3. Yahoo Videos

Social / Bookmark
1. myspace
2. facebook
3. tagged
4. classmates
5. del.icio.us
6. twitter
7. bla bla
8. bla bla
9. bla bla

Note to self:
Check all of the above before bed time. An email from a friend could be written on the wall of my facebook or tagged, check it before sending email, “Hey, you forgot me!”

Coming to the conclusion, I want to be listed in a place where most of my friends are plus in other sites where rest of my friends are as well. I don’t want to miss anyone.

Is there a better home page for me ?
Cause, checking my accounts is as boring as watching the paint peel.

News Scaring Nepal

Posted on the July 29th, 2008 under Nepal by admin

Just came back from Work, and Googled for some news on Nepal.
Often what is WORST gets to be published sooner than what is good.
I personally don’t believe that a few minor mistakes by our PM or even President should have to make a big deal in changing country where things seemed to move nicely towards the ever lasting peace. But Tabloids love news made of gossips, don’t they ?

And here are some, if you like. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Often most of these people don’t even have reporters back home, all they do, search local news sites and write stories to drag traffic. Yes, it’s sad that in spite of fighting for decades for human rights issues and freedom, NEPAL does horrible at times like the recent news of jailing of some ethnic groups for no reasons such as the from Nepal and those present in territory located in the Himalayas; border of Nepal and China.

Nepal may slip into political uncertainty - Oh yeah ? Get real reporters.
http://news.xinhuanet.com/… bla bla

Well, it’s easy to blame on foreign news sites or reporters, but here is again our own “Government Newspaper”, which needs to privatized for fare reporting. What do you think ? A freedom loving Nepal, don’t need a government run publications at all, except of course - a list of corrupted politicians, a report on abuse of public funds, taxes, etc would be welcomed even on a regular basic for say a weekly basis ? Gorkhapatra should be Janatapatra, now!

Uncertain Course Of Nepali Politics

Remember This : Bloody wars for years and years brings a peace to the table in our beautiful country, and all you junkies/journalists have nothing to do but write reports to damage what is already in our hand - The peace. How hard is it for you all to grasp the word “PEACE” instead of “Uncertainty”. Sure you can write a bunches of stuff on the later ones. Here is one for you. The “future of Nepali Journlaists is Uncertain” - Can some write on that topic, please!

And If you think blogs of this kind or posts of this sort aren’t good for us perhaps thinking this is too direct, “where is the freedom of expression then?” Isn’t that why we came this far ?

Yeah, freedom of expression for good or bad. Go ahead; do it - to sell or do it get rid of thoughts from your mind even if it ain’t a professional journalism. Who cares any ways ?

For more just google or use google’s news nepal. My Fav.
I just had a head-ace reading all useless news. How about you ? Bookmark the later link, there is nothing like that to get news of Nepal covered by Local as well as International Media. Google does it well on that one.

Well, if anyone is having head-ace? Stop writing.
