News Scaring Nepal

News & Links No Comments

Just came back from Work, and Googled for some news on Nepal.
Often what is WORST gets to be published sooner than what is good.
I personally don’t believe that a few minor mistakes by our PM or even President should have to make a big deal in changing country where things seemed to move nicely towards the ever lasting peace. But Tabloids love news made of gossips, don’t they ?

And here are some, if you like. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Often most of these people don’t even have reporters back home, all they do, search local news sites and write stories to drag traffic. Yes, it’s sad that in spite of fighting for decades for human rights issues and freedom, NEPAL does horrible at times like the recent news of jailing of some ethnic groups for no reasons such as the from Nepal and those present in territory located in the Himalayas; border of Nepal and China.

Nepal may slip into political uncertainty - Oh yeah ? Get real reporters.
http://news.xinhuanet.com/… bla bla

Well, it’s easy to blame on foreign news sites or reporters, but here is again our own “Government Newspaper”, which needs to privatized for fare reporting. What do you think ? A freedom loving Nepal, don’t need a government run publications at all, except of course - a list of corrupted politicians, a report on abuse of public funds, taxes, etc would be welcomed even on a regular basic for say a weekly basis ? Gorkhapatra should be Janatapatra, now!

Uncertain Course Of Nepali Politics

Remember This : Bloody wars for years and years brings a peace to the table in our beautiful country, and all you junkies/journalists have nothing to do but write reports to damage what is already in our hand - The peace. How hard is it for you all to grasp the word “PEACE” instead of “Uncertainty”. Sure you can write a bunches of stuff on the later ones. Here is one for you. The “future of Nepali Journlaists is Uncertain” - Can some write on that topic, please!

And If you think blogs of this kind or posts of this sort aren’t good for us perhaps thinking this is too direct, “where is the freedom of expression then?” Isn’t that why we came this far ?

Yeah, freedom of expression for good or bad. Go ahead; do it - to sell or do it get rid of thoughts from your mind even if it ain’t a professional journalism. Who cares any ways ?

For more just google or use google’s news nepal. My Fav.
I just had a head-ace reading all useless news. How about you ? Bookmark the later link, there is nothing like that to get news of Nepal covered by Local as well as International Media. Google does it well on that one.

Well, if anyone is having head-ace? Stop writing.

Presidential Election

Debate 1 Comment

Nepal has recently been decleared Republic by 2/3 majority in CA Election and is preparing for presidential election. Veteran Candidates for the position are GP Koirala, MK Nepal & Prachanda. Following are the answeres presented by each of the candidates in regards to their roadmap for the country’s advancement after they win the election. It is certain that their opinions will have great impact in the presindential election. So each of the expression is supposed to be carefully crafted. Now the indecisive votes are going to be influenced by their speeches and winner has to draw votes from the neutral public who will vote the candidate whose speech they believe are realistic and implementable in Nepal. Following are the excerpts:

Question: Mr Candidate tell us about how you think you are going to bring drastic changes in the devastated land like ours after you win the election?

Answer: GP Koirala:
We have the oldest foundation for democracy. We have always fought for the country and country people to preserve their rights. Our leaders have demonstrated real time experience of running the government more than the other political parties. Our leaders are examples who can do anything to maintain unity when it comes to election. Our recent preparations to unite should be an example to all the Nepalese that no matter what unity is the best policy. People have always trusted us and we have done so too. We are very adaptive to the changing circumstances and go with the people’s feelings. The example is the election manifesto being drafted for CA Election. Look, until now we advocated for Constitutional Monarchy. Now we have learned that people no longer want constitutional monarchy, we have adapted people’s sentiments and are going for the Republic. Our King might be angry with us, but we care more for the people than the king. We have never waged war against our own people. We never carried weapons to get to the power. We believe in peaceful means to practice democratic principles. Kisan Ji is the most honorable person in our party. So we respect his feelings and know that his opinions are very personal and come out of emotions. We are more carried away by public feelings, not the individual expressions. But at the same time we do let every one speak their mind, which is the real practice of democracy. We have great plans ahead. We are committed to build Nepal in near future. Thanks.

Mk Nepal:

I don’t have to elaborate who we are. People very well know about us. We have the long history of fighting for people. Most of our leaders have already got underground experience. Their struggle in the past is an example of our capability to fight for people’s sake. We could have had landslide victory in the second general election had we not had some differences among our ideologies. This was a great lesson for us. You know we are human beings and anyone can mistake any time. But with the time we have to improve our weaknesses. The example is we have long back united, but you can see there are other party leaders who are still finding hard time in uniting. We have always been cooperative. We have not only cooperated with the congress party but with the King and the Maoists themselves. That’s the extreme we can get to whenever it is needed. Now we are moving with the people’s feelings. We have no other option than going republic. Though we don’t have longer experience than congress in running the government, our strengths are well understood among the public. We would have changed the country’s map drastically had we got enough cooperation. That was our bad luck not to get good cooperation from the opposition whenever we were in power. Our ideologies are the most practical in the world. Modern democracy: People’s democracy. We inherit something from Maoism and something from democracy. So we are the most fitting party in Nepal.

Our road maps ahead are unparallel. We have confidence that we will change the country with our collective force among us. People sometimes have been confused with our democratic practices in the past, but they have understood our flexibility. I have the only desire in my life: Be the country’s model president who is ready to do anythig for the people. Thank you.

Prachanda:

Dear all my Lal Salute! It is my greatest pleasure to have an opportunity to speak my mind to the public so openly and present our party philosophy. Had we not negotiated with the government in time, we would have remained far behind. There would have been more fierce fight between us and the government and it’s hard to figure how many more lives would have been sacrificed in this land. That shows our tactfulness. We are the most modern Communists and ours is the most advanced ideology in terms of people’s government. Since it has never been in the practice it might be hard for some people to believe and also get the international recognization. That’s the reason, why we had to wage people’s war and use force to get to the power. People have to give us chance once to see who we are. How can we show who we are otherwise? So we took a differet rout to get to the power quickly so that we could use ourselves for the sake of people. By stopping the war we have not only saved so many people’s lives, we have already shown to the people that we don’t love blood. We know that this country’s future is to be built upon republicanism. Monarchy is the first enemy which needs to be eradicated first before anyother thing. The small space given to the monarchy is what we are against. Our popularity in so short period of time is an example of how quickly people want us in the government. People have always appriciated our parallel government practices even though thre were elements who tried to defame us. In the past we have punised the guilty and provided justice to the innocent. We are just one step back now. But our confidence on winning the electiong and working for the people further encourages us to  work hard towards getting into the power and working for the people. Since

our philosophies are the most desirable to the people, we want to do anything to bring that ideology in to practice to enhance people’s life. Thank you.
